The Jukebox Lounge started from a simple complaint: Doncaster had plenty of places to drink and nowhere that took the music seriously. Not nostalgia for its own sake — just the records that still fill a floor sixty years on, played on a system that does them justice.
So we built a room around them. Gold walls, warm light, Marvin on the wall and Motown in neon. Soul and Northern Soul at the weekend, throwbacks midweek, and karaoke rooms on the way for the nights when watching isn’t enough.
Drinks only, no kitchen. One thing, done properly.
